Medical & Scientific Advisory Council

Hero Heal Foundation is currently assembling a Medical & Scientific Advisory Council composed of leaders in trauma recovery, neuroscience, veteran mental health, and cultural healing traditions.

The purpose of this council is to ensure that Hero Heal programs are guided by evidence-informed practices, ethical safeguards, and culturally respectful approaches to healing.

Advisory council members will help guide:
• Participant safety screening protocols
• Ethical program design and facilitator standards
• Trauma-informed care practices
• Outcome tracking and research partnerships
• Cultural respect for traditional healing practices

This advisory structure ensures that Hero Heal maintains the highest standards of participant safety, integrity, and scientific responsibility.

Areas of Advisory Expertise
Hero Heal is seeking advisors with experience in the following areas:

Trauma Psychology
Experts in PTSD, trauma recovery, and integration support.

Neuroscience & Brain Health
Researchers and clinicians studying neuroplasticity, brain mapping, and the neurological effects of healing practices.

Veteran Mental Health
Professionals experienced in military culture, combat trauma, and veteran suicide prevention.

Cultural Guidance
Indigenous leaders, anthropologists, and cultural advisors who help ensure traditional medicines and practices are approached with respect and integrity.

Council Development
Hero Heal is currently inviting qualified professionals and experienced practitioners to join the council.

This advisory group will play an important role in shaping the organization’s safety standards, program design, and research collaborations as the foundation grows.

Impact & Outcomes

Measuring What Matters

Hero Heal Foundation is committed to helping veterans and first responders access healing opportunities that are compassionate, ethical, and accountable. As the organization grows, Hero Heal is building an impact framework that tracks changes in wellbeing, connection, and long-term resilience.

Veterans & first responders supported through early access opportunities
In Development
Scholarship and outcomes framework for future donor-supported programs

Mental Health Indicators

  • PTSD symptom change
  • Depression indicators
  • Anxiety reduction
  • Emotional regulation

Wellbeing & Life Quality

  • Sleep and nervous system regulation
  • Overall quality of life
  • Personal resilience

Community Connection

  • Reduced social isolation
  • Peer support and shared experience
  • Continued participation in supportive communities
  • Long-term engagement in wellness practices

Early Impact

Hero Heal is in an early growth phase, but mission-aligned support has already occurred through community partnerships, scholarship-style access, and trauma-informed educational opportunities.

  • Veterans and first responders attending select programs at no cost
  • Community-supported access to education and healing resources
  • Mentorship, referrals, and peer support
  • Relationship-building with aligned retreat, neuroscience, and integration partners

Why This Matters

Many veterans have already tried conventional systems and still feel isolated, dysregulated, or without a clear path forward. Hero Heal exists to bridge that gap by connecting participants to safe, trauma-informed opportunities while building a stronger support network around them.

This early work lays the foundation for a scalable scholarship and placement model that can grow with donor support.

Neuroscience & qEEG Brain Mapping

Hero Heal is also exploring how neuroscience may help strengthen outcome tracking over time. Through collaboration with practitioners using qEEG brain mapping, it may be possible to observe patterns associated with stress, trauma, attention, and nervous system regulation before and after healing programs.

Quantitative EEG does not replace personal experience, clinical care, or integration support. However, when used responsibly, it may help bridge subjective healing outcomes with objective brain-based data.

  • Stress and hyperarousal patterns
  • Attention and cognitive processing
  • Emotional regulation networks
  • Nervous system balance and recovery trends

As Hero Heal develops, neuroscience-informed partnerships may help the organization contribute to a more evidence-informed understanding of trauma recovery.
